Welcome to the U-SNAP-BAC Neighborhood
United Streets Networking And Planning Building A Community development corporation, commonly known as U-SNAP-BAC, is a community based organization committed to the redevelopment of Detroit's East Side. Since 1985, U-SNAP-BAC has been dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of Detroit through community organizing, citizen empowerment and housing development.
Our community development experience is based on our extensive record of advocating for quality of life improvements while focusing on policy changes in the local, state and national levels. Although our initiative has it's based on Detroit's eastside, we are advocates for change through the world.
Affordable, safe and decent housing in stabilized communities has been rewarded for the past 24 years. Our hard work and dedication has been rewarded time and time again by not only the empowerment of residents, but by the corporate world as well. In 2005, Bank One now know as Chase donated its vacant bank branch on Alter Road and East Warren to our organization not only because of our hard work as a community advocates, but for the work we have yet to accomplish.
Our philosophy is simple:
We collaborate to empower residential neighborhoods.
